A twisty ride south on Forest Road NF46 to Detroit then onto Straight Creek Road through the Quartzville Wilderness to Sweet Home on Hwy 20 east of Lebanon. Lunch stop is at The Point Restaurant. Return route is a more or less straight shot via backroads through the Willamette Valley north to Gladstone and I-205. For I-5, head to Woodburn from Silverton.
